I have been thinking and I want to say this all sounds like my dad. He was born March 20, 1928, in Clinton,IA. He doesn't talk much about his family, but I have an old address book that was given to him by his mom, Clara. I think you found him. I hope you will contact me through e-mail, as I have searched the internet to find you, and can only locate this site. I am excited to hear from you.
