i am jackson hovey's great great grandson. he was born in allegany co, ny on 4/9/1833. he married lucinda WEISSE MINIUM on 11/2/1853 in kaneville, kane co, il. they moved to lost nation, iowa in 1857. after a terrible winter they moved back to il. eventually they moved back to ia. he enlisted in the 124th illinois infantry co b in 1862 and served until 1865 being honorably discharged as a cpl. he was a farmer in lost nation the rest of his life. he died in a buggy accident on 7/20/1902. i have more if you want
