Helena and Claus were my great great (I think) grandparents. My grandfather was the son of Elsabe Catharina Stoltenberg (daughter of Helena and Claus) and Marx. Tietjens. My grandfather was Ludwig Henry Tietjens (born July 31, 1870 in Clinton County, Iowa. Married to Anna Vitze on June 10, 1906. My mother (Arlene)was the youngest of four children and the only daughter. My grandparents lived in Canada for several years ( at Kenaston, Saskatchewan). My mom was born here and remained in Canada when my grandparents returned to Mason City in the late 1940's. One of her brothers also remained here while the other two returned to Mason City also.
