FYI, I sent Maureen a copy of Emma's obituary. I checked the death records for William and failed to find him listed. There was a William that died in 1965, but according to his death record in the County Annex, he had lived and farmed around Grand Mound all of his life. William and Emma had a daughter from Evanston visiting with them at the time of the fire. I suspect William returned to Evanston with his daughter.
