peggy, To my knowledge there was not a veterans facility in CC in that time period. There was , and still is, the county home, outside of Charlotte, but I don't know what records they would have. Best bet would be to obtain the death cert. This should give you pl. of death, last residence and funeral director who would have made arrangements for transportation.Dick
