Lewis - 1962 deaths

I am looking for information on two ancestors that passed away in Clinton Township. They were both children of George & Margaret Lewis. The first one was Florence Amelia Lewis who died on August 8, 1862 at the age of 7 and her brother; Curtis J Lewis who died on August 31, 1862 at the age of 4. I have been trying to determine if there was some kind of epidemic that they died from? Does any one have any information? There are no newspapers for this time period.
