I am looking for possible information on a M. Thurston Fuller born in Clinton Co. to unknown parents supposedly born in F-NY and M-IA or PA. He would have been born about 185? or 1861. He ended up in Monona Co. IA and according to census records for 1895, was born in 1861 but his tombstone reads 185?, the grass was too high when the volunteer took the pic. All census records after 1895 list him as being born in 1867 so he shaved off a few years. He married a Ella Steinshower who was born in Tama Co. IA and was living in Harrison Co. IA. They had Ethel M., Etsell, and Myrtle. They divorced around 1815 and the children stayed with him and Ella went back to Des Moines to live. I have been working on trying to find out what the M. stands for in M. Thurston Fuller but all records in Monona Co. list him the same way and even his stone says M. T. Fuller. I have yet to try to search the 1860 census in hopes of finding him if he was really born in the 1850s in Clinton. His son Etsell, as a adult, sold off his fathers land after his death in the 1930s then moved to SD and lived with a Josiah O. or D. Fuller and I cant figure out what the connection is there either. Josiah was born in MN in 1862 if the census can be believed. Thanks. Denise
