To All Clinton County Iowa researchers: Am seeking any descendants of Clement V. Smith, last known of Clinton Co., Iowa, circa October, 1890, when his father, Silas S. Smith, passed at that location about October 30, 1890, with survivors,Clement V. Smith(b. About 1855), and wife Margaret (maiden surname ALFORD who was b. 02/22/1829 and d. 08/26/1901) Smith. Clement V. Smith, son of Silas S. and Margaret (Alford) Smith, was m. about 10/31/1888 in Noble Co., Indiana, to one Nerrisa (or possibly Merrisa)Bower who was b. about 1861, daughter of Jacob Bower and Catherine (Hutchinson) Bower. Silas S. Smith and son Clement V. Smith operated together a tailor shop in Clinton, Clinton Co., Iowa, only for a short period of time after Silas S. Smith moved to Clinton from Chicago, Illinois,not long before Silas'es decease on or about October 30, 1890 at Clinton, Iowa. I thank you in advance for any assistance you can give to this inqiry.
