Susan,
I don't know if you are aware of the North Frisian Institute's Emigrant's website. You can search for emigrants that are known to the institute. The entries do not always provide much information, but you can write for further info, which is sometimes available. I found a listing for a Friedrich Christian Andresen, but you would need more info to make sure he is yours:
