I'm looking to determine a link between my grandfather's family and the Petersons in Clinton: Andrew Peterson, father of Edward and Anna. The latter are in the 1880 Census for City of Clinton at ages 17 and 13. Then only Edward and Linnea (sister) in 1920 and 1930 Census. They are listed as emigrating in 1873 in the 1920 Census and 1871 in the 1930. She is listed as 4 years younger in the 1920 Census and 2 in the 1930 Census. Edward is 65 in the 1930 Census under Petersen. Linnea is listed as a music teacher in both censuses. Is Linnea Anna? Edward is listed in the 1920 Census as a partner in a store--men's furnishings or ... furniture.
My grandfather's cousin was Edward Peterson from Clinton. He attended my great-uncle's funeral in 1925. I don't know how old he was. I think Andrew was my great-grandfather Magnus' brother. Magnus changed the name to Lindgren; spelled Lengren in the 1880 Census. Both Andrew and Magnus are listed in 1880 as working at the sash factory. Magnus and his wife Anna emigrated in 1869 to DeKalb County, IL. Two sons were born there; a daughter was born in Clinton before 1880. After their house and job site burned, they moved to Woodward (Dallas County) in central Iowa, then later settled on a farm near Marathon, Buena Vista County (c. 1893). I'm trying to determine the date of that fire.
