John Grusendorf arrest info

I found an old newspaper article from 1894 about a John Grusendorf in Clinton trying to shoot his lawyer, Mr. Carroll for charging $200 for a divorce from Tena Barr. There were two John Grusendorf's in the area at the time--father and son and I am trying to discover which one of them this was. Is there any record of the age of people who were arrested? Thanks for any info you can provide.
