William Dinwoodie m Lavina Bennett

William Dinwoodie was apparently a prominent person in Clinton Co, Iowa, and I need more information on the family connections between him and the Bennett, Coy, and Tracy families. Shown living with William and Lovina (Bennett) Dinwoodie are several Bennett children (who I suspect were children of Otis Bennett) and two Tracy children (at least one of whom was a child of Lovina (Coy) Tracy, all of whom are part of my ancestry but I can't figure out why they are with that household. I suspect that Lovina (Bennett) Dinwoodie may have been the wife of William Tracy since I don't know when he died, but I don't know why her name is shown as Bennett in her marriage to Dinwoodie--was she married to a Bennett or is she the child of a Bennett? Anyone have any clues?

I find two mentions of William Dinwoodie in the 1879 History of Clinton County: On page 379: Drainage Commissioner: William Dinwoodie 1853 to 1856 On page 618: On the 8th of July, 1839, the following settlers were in the townshsip [Elk River]...Otis Bennett....William Dinwoodie
