Have you contacted the local Clinton co.gene societies for any assistance they can provide Amy? In addition to the better known, There is also the excellent Central Community Historical Society in De Witt. They have a wealth of county info not necessarily found on-line including county cemetery records. Contact there is Ann Soenksen. Also have to consider that Daniel may have died in Oh. or enroute to the Hawkeye state since Mary was a widow on the 1856 Ia. state census. Dick
