Seeking place of settlement & death of Gr Gr Grandfather

Johann arrived in U.S. in 1854 from Ger. with wife & 5 children. Only location of settlement was a mention in personal letter stating site of present day city of Clinton.
Johann b.26 May 1798,Osterhausen, E. Friesland, Ger.

m. 10 Jun 1826 to Theda Neppen

Believed to be a farmer. One son, Alverick O. OMMEN m. 26 Dec.1867, Jones Co. IA where he farmed in Castle Grove Twp until about 1878, moving on to Guthrie Co.
