Early Elkader Buildings

Currently posted on Ebay are glass plate pictures of 1901 Elkader, IA buildings.
My ancestor, Oakley F. Davis (1827-1908), a Welsh immigrant, lived in Elkader from 1855 until his death. He was a carpenter and his obit states that many of Elkader's early buildings were built by him or under his direction.
Does anyone out there know what buildings these may have been and if any are still standing?
