DIED - In McGregor, Tuesday, December 17th, 1861, of Diptheria, Sammy, youngest son of John and Mary A. McCraney, aged 3 years, 8 months and 7 days.

Sammy was a bright, interesting little fellow, the idol of his parents, and the pet of the neighborhood. He had survived one attack of the diptheria, when he was the second time attacked and in three days died.
