Opitz - O'Brien marriage - 1951

OPITZ, OBRIEN, COLLINS

Miss Mary Grace O'Brien, daughter of Mrs. Rose O'Brien, and Joseph W. Opitz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Opitz, all of Strawberry Point, were united in marriage, Tuesday. The Rev. Father Robert Smith officiated at the St. Mary's Catholic church in Strawberry Point. Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Clair Collins, Strawberry Point, sister and brother-in-law of the groom.

After an extended wedding trip through the south, the couple will be at home on a farm east of Strawberry Point.

The bride is a graduate of Strawberry Point high school, Elkader Junior college, and Upper Iowa University. The groom is a graduate of Strawberry Point high school and saw four years service in the United States Army during World War II. He has been engaged in farming and the bride has been teaching in the rural schools of Clayton County.
