Stephen Henry Page, son of William and Rachel Page, as born in Clinton county, Ohio, February 14, 1853, and departed this life March 13, 1931. He lived in Ohio until about two years of age when his parents moved to Hermon, Illinois, where he grew to manhood. He was married in Fulton county, Ill., October 22, 1874, to Caroline Richmond, moving to Clarke county, Iowa, in 1885, where he spent the remainder of his life except fifteen years spent in Lucas county.

He leaves to mourn his death a devoted wife and ten children, all of whom were at his bedside during the last sad rites except John of Grandview, Washington, who was unable to be present. The children are: Charlie of Lucas, Iowa; John of Grandview, Washington; Ethel Snuggs of Mt. Pleasant, Ia.; Amy Southward of Waukee, Ia.; Adith Jones of Lucas, Ia.; Ida Mongar; Silas Emery, George and Merlin, all of Osceola, Iowa. Also 53 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

The sisters living are Mary Hale of Osceola, Iowa; Margret Barrett of Wayne, Nebr.; Stella Harless of Des Moines, Iowa; and Rosa Wood of Topeka, Kansas. The brothers are William Page of Pilger, Nebr.; James Page of Osceola. Four sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

Mr. Page was a faithful follower of the master, was converted and joined the Christian church in Hermon, Illinois, when he was fifteen years of age. He was a kind and loving husband and father, a good neighbor and citizen, and bore his suffering with patience, often expressing himself that he was ready to go.

Funeral services were conducted from Webster Funeral Home Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock by Rev. F. Clare McCallon. Interment in Greenwood cemetery.

Those present from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. William Page of Pilger, Nebr.; Mrs. Margret Barrett of Wayne, Neb.; Stella Harless of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Carlan and daughter of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Warden of Weldon, Iowa; and Linel Page of Pilger, Nebr..
