Last rites for Silas Elmer Page, a resident of Clarke county since early childhood, were held at the Webster Funeral home this afternoon with Rev. Warren Hile of the Christian church, officiating. Burial was in the Liberty cemetery.

A son of Stephen and Caroline Richmond Page, Silas was born near Canton, Ill., February 6, 1882. He died at the Clarke county hospital October 29, being 73 years old.

While he had not been in good health for the past ten years, his condition did not become critical until Monday of last week when he suffered a heart attack.

He came to Clarke county with his parents when he was five years old and this has been his home ever since. He was a farmer all of his life.

On August 27, 1902 he was married to Mary Mustain. She and two infants died a number of years ago. He was again married, on March 1, 1941, to Flossie McComas, who survives him.

Besides his widow he is survived by four daughters: Nola Ramsey of New Virginia, Bernice Mugavero of Ridgefield, Conn., Louise Cooper and Almeda Reish of Osceola; three sons, Basil and Hubert Page of Osceola and Burdell Page of Toledo, Iowa. There are 10 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and four step-children, Mrs. Harold Blaine of Tulare, Calif., Mrs. Gerald Blaine of Fresno, Calif., Mrs. E.G. Boatwright of Brookfield, Mo., and Joe McComas of Des Moines. Also surviving are four sisters and a brother, Emery Page of Osceola, Ida Mongar of Pomona, Calif., Adith Jones of Chariton, Amy Southward of Des Moines and Ethel Snuggs of Burlington.
