Pearl Marie Cole, 92, formerly of Osceola, died Tuesday, January 29, at the Rowley Memorial Masonic Home in Perry, Iowa. Services will be held Friday, February 1 at the Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with the Rev. Neville Clayton officiating the 11 a.m. rites. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery. The family requests memorials to Rowley Memorial Masonic Home of Perry.
Pearl Marie Cole was born on September 21, 1892 in Decatur City, Iowa to Thomas Somersette Tullis and Mary Horner Tullis. She attended schools in Decatur County and one year of music education at Drake University. She married Forest Cole on February 6, 1917 in Decatur City. Five children were born to this union Marie was a homemaker/housewife, member of the O.E.S. Chapter 267 of Osceola, the U.M.W. of the Osceola Methodist Church and the Altruistic Club of Osceola. She moved to Osceola in 1937 and again to Indianola in 1973.
Surviving relatives include: a daughter Joyce Twombley and husband, Donavan of Des Moines; daughter Virgene DeLong of Denver, Colorado; daughter-in-law, Harriette Cole of Osceola; daughter-in-law, LuJeann Cole of Indianola; 11 grandchildren; six great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Forest in 1982 and sons, King and Jack.
