OBITUARY.
Harriet Elizabeth Gillett died at her home in Chickasaw, Friday, July 7, 1905. Deceased had been a constant though patient sufferer for several weeks. The funeral services were held at the church Sunday afternoon conducted by her pastor, Rev. Anderson, of New Hampton. Interment was in Chickasaw cemetery.
Harriet Elizabeth Rowley was born in Steuben county, N. Y., March 9, 1826. She moved with her parents to Michigan at the age of 11. She was married in 1843 to LaFayette Case and came with her husband to Iowa in 1847, she being one of the earliest settlers in Chickasaw county. Three children came to bless this union. Mr. Case died soon after coming to Iowa, and two children died in youth and Elmer in January, 1891. On Jan. 24, 1853, she was married to William Gillett and one son was born to them. She leaves to mourn their loss an aged husband, one son, two sisters, and three brothers—George Gillett, of North Dakota; Mrs. Lydia Johnson {remainder of obituary is illegible}
