Mrs. Mary Hanson

Amherst: Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Hanson, a pioneer resident of Tilden township were held in the Trinity Lutheran church in Amherst, Thursday at 2 o’clock.

Mrs. Hanson was born in Norway, in 1842. When yet in her teens, her people came to America to live. After marrying Christian Hanson, they came to Cherokee county and located in Tilden township, where they continued to live for 53 years, until claimed by death. Mrs. Hanson had attained the ripe old age of 86 years. She is survived by two daughters. (Source: The Cherokee Chief, Thurs., Oct. 18, 1928, pg. 2)
