James Patton Knox
Marcus – The body of James Patton Knox, 83, who died at his home in Chevy Chase, Md., October 13, was shipped to Marcus, Oct. 17. The deceased was formerly a lumberman of Marcus and Primghar and was a brother of the late John Knox of Marcus. The brothers were nephews of Thos. Patton, a pioneer of the lumber business of Marcus. The deceased is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Charles Phillips, of Washington, D. C., who with her husband, accompanied the body to Marcus. Mrs. James Knox died eight years ago. Short funeral services were held in the Brink funeral home Monday. Burial was in the Marcus-Amherst Cemetery. Pall bearers were six Knox nephews.
