Funeral services for Harry Richard Jackson, 83, were held at the United Methodist church, Mechanicsville, May 17, 1989 with the Rev. Jamie Glenn-Burns officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 603 10th St. S.E., Cedar Rapids.

Mr. Jackson died of cancer at Mercy hospital, Cedar Rapids, May 14.

The son of Richard and Margaret Moir Jackson, he was born at Mechanicsville May 9, 1906 and graduated from Mechanicsville high school in 1924. He attended Iowa State college, Ames.

He was married to Elizabeth Schneider at Ruthven July 25, 1933. He lived and farmed in the Mechanicsville area all of his life. He was a charter member of the Lions club, a member of the Presbyterian church, a 50 year member of Palmos Masonic Lodge #155 and a past director of the Mechanicsville Trust and Savings Bank.

He is survived by his wife and a sister, Nancy McKibben, Mechanicsville.
