Funeral services for Mearl McCroskey, 79, retired farmer, were held at the Sheets and Son Funeral home Oct. 13 with the Rev. Jerrold Swinton officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. Joe Mallie was vocalist and Kathy Schott was organist.

Mr. McCroskey died at the Senior Home, Monticello, Oct. 10.

The son of George W. and Amy M. Rocholz McCroskey, he was born near Tipton Nov. 10, 1906. He was educated in the Cedar county rural schools.

He farmed most of his life. He never married. Mr. McCroskey had been living in Monticello for 15 years.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. George (Lucille) Dircks, Hopkinton and a nephew. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers.
