Funeral services for Clara Freese, 90, Manchester and formerly of Tipton, were held June 12 at the United Methodist church in Tipton, with Dr. Jerrold Swinton officiating. Elaine Moes was the vocalist and Sylvia Gould was the organist. Pallbearers were Harland Alison, Steve Fishel, Jerold Heyer, Larry Heyer, Dwain Kuehl and Kenneth Kuehl. Burial was in Oakland cemetery in Manchester.
Mrs. Freese died June 9 at the Delaware County Memorial hospital following a brief illness.
The daughter of Theodore and Ann Schulz Heyden, she was born Oct. 1, 1895 near Tipton. She attended the rural Cedar county schools. She married Claude Eberhart in 1915 in Manchester and Hans Freese in 1954 in Manchester. She was preceded in death by both husbands.
Mrs. Freese was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist church, Women's Fellowship, Tipton Federated Garden Club and Women of the Moose Lodge 730 in Tipton. She had resided in Manchester for the past 4 months.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Vernon (Helen) Heyer, Manchester; 2 sons, Francis Eberhart, Memphis, Tenn. and Marvin Eberhart, Chicago, Ill.; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, a son, 3 sisters and 3 brothers.
