Funeral services for John A. "Bud" Adams, 59, Tipton, were held June 9 at Sheets and Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Smith officiating. The organist was Mrs. Ruby Phelps and pallbearers were Dwight Dean, Eldred Meier, Ransom Mueller, Leonard Bromell, Harold Hensch and Sonny Mariatt. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.
John Adams died June 6 at his home in Tipton following an extended illness.
The son of John M. and Ada Bazyn Adams, he was born June 27, 1926 in Muscatine. He attended the Tipton schools and married Irene Tisor April 17, 1948 in Muscatine.
Mr. Adams was retired from the Iowa Department of Transportation in Cedar county. He had been a Tipton resident for the past 54 years and served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a member of the Tipton VFW.
He was survived by his wife; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Kramer, Muscatine; a brother, Bill, Iowa City and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
