Funeral Services for Alex Oliver Johnson, 88, Gibson, former Tipton resident, were held at What Cheer April 15 with burial in Sixteen cemetery, Thornburg. Mr. Johnson died at Grinnell General hospital April 13.

The son of Oliver S. and Susan E. Yule Johnson, he was born in Tipton Sept. 19, 1897. He married Fern E. Eyler at Marengo March 7, 1923. She died in 1960.

He was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Keokuk County Farm Bureau.

He is survived by a sister, Esther M. Nephew, Tipton; 2 nephews and 4 nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, a sister and a brother.
