Michael F. Beyer, 65, of Carroll, who had resided at the Carroll Health Center for a short time, died at the St. Anthony Regional Hospital here Sunday afternoon.
Mass of the resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Leo Lenz, V.F., officiating. Military honors will be formed at the church and at the cemetery by the Maurice Dunn Post No. 7, American Legion.
Friends may call at the Twit Funeral Home after 6:30 p.m. Monday. The rosary will be recited by the Knights of Columbus at 7 a.m. Monday and at 8 p.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery under the direction of the Twit Funeral Home, Carroll.
Mr. Beyer, son of Joseph and Crescentia Stangl Beyer, was born on April 2, 1911 at Lake Andres, S.D. He was a lifelong resident of Carroll. He was a member of the Maurice Dunn Post No. 7, American Legion; Veterans of Foreign Wars and Knight of Columbus. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. Following the service, he was a farmer until 1957. From 1957 to 1974, he was a carpet layer for Al Heinrichs.
He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Ben (Irene) Loxterkamp of Bridgeport, Neb., George Beyer of Carroll, Alvin Beyer of San Diego, Calif., Clarence Beyer of Carroll, Mrs. Vincent (Luella) Huelshorst of Missouri Valley, Edward Beyer of Phoenix, Ariz., Paul Beyer of Carroll and Raymond Beyer of Cedar Falls.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph M. and Lawrence and two sisters; Mrs. Zeno (Loretta) Terlisner and Mrs. John Wortman.
