Leon DeMers of Jackson, Minn., father of Mrs. John Dostal of Carroll, died in a Jackson hospital Aug. 21 after a long illness.

Rites were held Aug. 25 at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Jackson, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Storm Lake.

Mr. DeMer's father was a former owner-operator of a Coast-to-Coast store in Carroll.

Surviving are his wife, Alice; two daughters, Mrs. Jack Bunnelle of Stillwater, Minn., and Mrs. Dostal (Norma); nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and two brothers, Fred and Louis, both of Storm Lake.

Other Carroll relatives include the Vanderheiden and Dion families and the Wendell Stoner family.
