LAKE CITY - Funeral services for Mrs. Vera Grace Smith, 78, of Lake City were held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Huffman Memorial Chapel, Lake City. Rev. John McCallum officiated. Mrs. John Mapel was organist; Mrs. Stephen Huffman, soloist. Pallbearers were William Deuel, Wilbur Wenck, John Jackson, Fred Sorenson, Wilbur Wiederin, and Leland Bruggeman. Burial was in Westlaw Cemetery at Glidden.

Mrs. Smith died Tuesday night at Sunny Knoll Nursing Home in Rockwell City. She is survived by eleven children, one brother, 26 grandchildren, and 39 great-grandchildren.
