I am looking for ANY information regarding my grandmother's birth parents, Amelia Ostlund (Austlund or other spelling) and her husband (reportedly) Unknown Josephson. Amelia was the mother of two girls, Karolyn and baby Violet/Viola Rose. Story of family is that shortly before the baby's birth her father was killed in a train accident. My grandmother had a picture of him, though I no longer have it, in which he did have a railroad man's cap (the denium looking one with stripes, box type cap) on. She had found her mother, too late. She found her sister, though didn't get to talk about sisterly things as she had had a stroke. She did not find other siblings prior to her death but I have found them. We are still looking for her father, his name, who he was and what truely happened for this young mother, Amelia, to have had to give up her youngest daughter for adoption in Holdrege, NE when the child was only 6 months old. The children's home records report that they left the Alta, IA railroad station and arrived in another small town just north of Holdrege. ANYONE who has any clue as to this family please, help. I have lost my mother and my grandmother, they both hunted for years for my grandmother's father. I would like to find him and any other relatives if possible. Thanks! Laurie
