Stephens-Agnew in Cherokee/Buena Vista counties 1890s

I am seeking additional information regarding a death listed on IAgenweb: "Stephens, Edward J. age 17 born Canada; died Jan. 29, 1892 in Storm Lake; buried Jan. 30, 1892 in Storm Lake."
[ http://iagenweb.org/buenavista/DeathRecords/BuenaVistaDeathRecords%281880-1895&1907-1912%29/1892death.htm ] I am of suspicion that this is the the son of Jeanie Stephens Agnew and step-son of Dr. Niven Ross who were married in Cherokee, Iowa and reported on November 4, 1891 in the Cherokean Democrat: "AGNEW-STEPHENS-On the 28th of October, at the residence of Dr. Hornibrook, Cherokee, Iowa, by the Rev. J. MacAllister, pastor of the Presbyterian church, Niven Agnew M.D. of Winnipeg, Canada, and Mrs. Jennie E. Stephens of Walsenburg, Colorado." [ http://iagenweb.org/boards/cherokee/documents/index.cgi?read=119933 ] Mrs. Stephens was my great-great grandmother, but until very recently we had no record of this second marriage or what had happened to her sons other than my grandfather. She was originally from Canada, so to the best of our knowledge she had no connection to Iowa. We are presuming Dr. Agnew or his first wife, Jane Somerville Ross, may have had a connection to the area. If you have any additional records relating to these names you may be able to assist us in solving a mystery that has persisted across several generations. Thanks in advance for your help.
