Newell Twnshp Census Info

1885 State Census for Newell Township shows area references such as Prairie Creek, Willow Grove, Pleasant Lake, Newell Ind, Falkner, Maple Grove, etc. What are these areas? History of their formation and use? Is illustrative map available? I was born in Newell in 1917, am deep in a writing project involving family history, and need this info in that project.
