Larry Joseph Reuter, 66 years old of Jesup, IA, died Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa.

Larry was born January 13, 1958, in Waterloo, IA, the son of Leo Joseph Reuter and Darlene Rose (Roth) Reuter. He graduated from Jesup High School in 1976. On September 15, 1979, he was united in marriage to Debbie Kae Rogers in Gilbertville.

Larry was a dairy farmer for twenty-five years before retiring to focus on his welding and repair business. He continued to operate his business, Reuter’s Welding and Repair, for 30 years. He was the fifth generation to own and operate the family farm. Larry’s favorite quote was “I have never worked a day in my life, because I love what I do.”

Larry is survived by his wife, Debbie Reuter of Jesup; two daughters, Jennifer (Donny) Jacobsen of Jesup, Sheri (Jack) Steuben of Cedar Falls, IA; five grandchildren, D.J. Jacobsen (Summer Weed), Mandy Jacobsen, Brianna Jacobsen, Colin Steuben and Brooke Steuben; one great grandson, Charlie Jacobsen; five sisters, Joyce (Clifford) Schimmels of Denver, IA, Judy (Bill Beveridge) Barkley of Independence, IA, Mary (Jack) Collins of Hopkins, MN, Lou Ann (Kurt) Frush of Jesup, Joan (Bob) Venem of Jesup; four brothers, Leon (Jeanne) Reuter of Gilbertsville, PA, John (Linda) Reuter of Jesup, Roger (Angie) Reuter of Brandon, IA, and Richard (Patricia) Reuter of Jesup.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, one infant brother, Thomas; and one infant sister, Rose Mary; one niece, Kristy Frush and one nephew, Wayne Wesley Collins, in infancy.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 16, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville, IA, with burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Gilbertville.

Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 15, 2024, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will continue for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family or a charity of the donor’s choice.
