There is a Dayton township in Bremer county as there is in Webster county. There is no known connection to Bremer County of this family. Webster county genweb has some great resources including a list of deaths from the 1850's but Mr. Brown was not listed.
As Mary and Charles lived in Webster county for most of their lives I would suggest correspondence with local expertise such as a Webster co historical or genealogical society as you are not likely to find an online source.
