1940 census available

The 1940 census is available. It is not yet indexed but if you have time you may browse pages fairly easily. Bremer County is at

Selection of township is fairly easy though it might be daunting to find someone in Waverly it is possible as I found my Dad and my Mom's family in about 10 minutes.

Indexing will probably be done first by Familysearch.org. They have a significant group of volunteers(myself included) that have finished about 10 states in 2 weeks. They have an excellent system for data checking and I highly recommend it. You do not have to be a Mormon(LDS) member to participate and you will get no nongenealogical information. Commercial vendors including Ancestry are also working on it but only have 2 states last I checked. I do not know about other services.
