Bill J. Hills, age 54, was born in Fayette County, Iowa, the son of Richard and Lida (Northrup) Hills. He married the former Betty Schmidt and they resided in Tripoli, Iowa where he was been employed with the Tripoli-Readlyn Sanitation Agency. He died suddenly at his home Tuesday evening of an apparent heart attack.

Bill Hills is survived by his wife Betty, one son Ronald (Evelyn) Hills of Elgin, Iowa and a daughter Linda (Charles) Heinemann, of Tripoli. Also grandchildren Todd, Brenda, Kristi, and Reece Hills and Jodi Heinemann. He is survived by his seven sisters Alma Aschbrenner of Waverly, Iowa, Marion (Art) Spaight of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Helen (Glenn) Wittenberg of Readlyn, Iowa, Mardell (Art) Tribon of Denver, Iowa, Bonnie Mathias of Waterloo, Iowa, Betsy (Darol) Schweer of Des Moines, Iowa, Nancy (Cannie) Potter of Waverly, Iowa and five brothers John Hills of Finchford, Iowa, Russell Hills of Kansas City, Kansas, Jack Hills of Key West, Florida, Harold Hills of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Jim Hills of Independence, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents.
