Here is William Henry Wood's obituary:
Mr. William H. Wood of Blairstown passed away Tuesday morning of last week, death being caused from coronary occlusion, Mr. Wood was 60 years of age.
William Henry Wood was born May 13, 1877 in England and came with his parents to America when but 5 years old. The family settled near Oxford where Mr. Wood lived until 1907 when he came to Blairstown. His parents died at an early age and he was left an orphan at the age of 9 years. On Jan. 19, 1899 he was united in marriage to Cora May Marvin and to this union one daughter was born. She is Mrs. Granger P. Buck of Rhoades. For 13 years Mr. and Mrs. Wood operated the Corner Cafe in Blairstown and since that time Mr. Wood has worked as a traveling salesman for various firms. He was a member of the Presbyterian church at that place and was a member of Lincoln lodge No. 199, Masonic order of Blairstown. Besides his widow, daughter and son-in-law the deceased is survived by four grandchildren. He also leaves a large circle of friends in the Blairstown community and in Cedar Rapids where Mr. and Mrs. Wood have lived during the past few winters in order that Mr. Wood might be nearer his working headquarters.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday at 1:30 at the home and at 2 o'clock in the Presbyterian church. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill cemetery south of Blairstown.
