Jesse Walker b. 1810 WV, died 1886 Des Moines County, IA

I am doing research on Jesse Walker, who is an ancestor buried in Benton County, IA at the North Walker Cemetery. The link to his gravestone is attached and he is shown to be the son of Joseph and Barbara Teter Walker. I am helping a distant relative do similar research on Martin Walker, who was a sibling of Jesse and also buried in the same cemetery.

Both of us are applying for DAR membership and must prove that our Jesse and Martin were indeed the children of Joseph and Barbara. Does anyone have written evidence supporting the relationship between the sons and parents someplace other than only the gravestones? Maybe even a book I can purchse? If so, can you point me in the right direction to find it? I have checked with the Randolph County, WV Historical Society because the Walker sons were born there. Given that the family settled in Iowa, I’m hoping the records may be more intact.
