Funeral Services For Laura Smalley Held at C. Falls

MT. AUBURN— Funeral services for Mrs. Laura. Smalley, 90, was held in the chapel of the Western Old People's home at Cedar Falls this morning at nine o'clock Burial was in the family lot in the Mt. Auburn cemetery.

Mrs. Smalley died Saturday evening at the home where she went in 1934 following her husband's death. She had been a resident of Mt. Auburn for many years before that.

Mrs. Smalley was born Laura Barnes on April 7, 1864, at Franksville, la., a daughter of Rev. and Mrs. D. C. Barnes. She married James A. Smalley on June 25, 1801. She was a member of the Methodist church.

Surviving are three children, Harold of Mt. Auburn, Walter of Vinton, and Mrs. Esther Livingston of Marshalltown, 20 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded, in death by her husband and two children.
