Wesley Banks, aged 88 passed his birthday anniversary in his Centerville home July 28th. This old soldier is the only surviving member of the Mexican War living in the county. Friends sent in over 150 postal cards to the honored veteran as a silent reminder that men like him were not always forgotten.
