GILBERT MCCOY, farmer, Sec. 15; P.O. Centerville; born March 8, 1806, in Elizabethtown, Va.; when a child, came with his parents to Monroe Co., Ohio; April 10, 1849, he removed to Appanoose Co. He owns 197 acres of land which he entered direct from the Government. Married Miss Sarah Melott April 29, 1832, in Monroe Co., Ohio; she was born Dec. 31, 1806, in Pennsylvania; had seven children, six living - William, Ann, now Mrs. Booth, Peter, Mitchel, Rachel and Rebecca; lost Margaret in 1874 at aged 27 years. Democrat.
