Our correspondent "H", from Rossville, ends us the following this week and promises to let us hear from him again:

Taylor - Died, at the residence of his parents, one and a half miles west of Rossville, on the 24th ult., of Brain fever, after an illness of 18 [or 48] hours, John Taylor, aged 21 [or 24] years.

The deceased was the second son of Wm. and Hannah Taylor, and was greatly beloved by them, as well as by all who knew him.

His pleasing manners and jovial disposition had made him popular with every body, and he will be sadly missed. Enemies, he had none.

His death was a severe shock to his parents, brother and sister, Mrs. Philips, of Postville, as also to an elder brother in Minnesota, who did not receive word in time to reach home.

The funeral services were preached in the Baptist church, by Rev. Hesterwood, of Strawberry Point, who was visiting friends and relatives in this vicinity.

He was buried on the 25th, according to the rites of the Odd Fellows, of which fraternity he was an honored member, and is the third person to "sleep the sleep that knows no waking," in the Odd Fellow's graveyard, south of town.
