JOSIAH ELLIOT, JOHN RUNNELLS THOMPSON, JAMES HOWES, DAISY HOWES

Looking for help locating information sources for: Josiah Elliot who moved from Three Rivers, Michigan to Adams County in May 1865. My info (diary) indicates he "bought 216 acres of government land at $1.25/acre". Second query: Sources for John Runnells Thompson who moved from Washington County Iowa (Kalona) to Adams County in 1882 +/-. His daughter Daisy married James Howes who died in 1899 and is buried in Oakland/Quincy cemetery. Found his marker on Find-A-Grave. She died in Missouri in June 1942. A July 2, 1942 Lenox Time Table article indicates she was buried in the Quincy Cemetery. Is there a searchable source for the Adams County (Corning) paper? Any help you can provide is appreciated! thank you!
