David Radik

THOMPSON, RADIK

I am searching for information about David Radik and his brother William Radik. They worked on the Andrew Thompson farm in Quincy. In the 1860 and 1870 they were listed under Andrew Thompson(32) and his mother Mary Thompson(71). Mary was born in Ireland and David in Scotland and William in Ireland. David was 16 in 1860 and William was 10. I cannot seem to find out where they came from and who their parents were. They were just boys in 1860. Do you know if the Orphan Trains were happening in the 1850s? Maybe Mary knew their family from Scotland/Ireland. David Raddick (correct spelling) was in the Civil War from Iowa., so he must have come back to work for them again to be there in the 1970 census. David Raddick ended up in Nebraska and California, and William Raddick ended up as one of the first settlers in Lead, South Dakota.
Thanks for your help!
