It doesn't help if someone evidently spent decades covering her tracks and deliberately falsified records to cover up a scandal. I estimate that Leah used about eight different names. The interesting thing is that the untruths were mixed with some truths that didn't often vary, and made it possible to patch things together using modern--and classical--record search techniques. DNA testing *seems* to have made it possible to sort the circumstantial wheat from the chaff. The 1911-1919 and 1921-1926 time periods remain rather murky but might yet yield to closer inspection. Just this morning I noticed a strange coincidence that might mean something. Or not.
