December 2015 December 15, 2015: Added photo of Prairie Hall School, Viola Township, contributed by Elizabeth Chain. This photo was originally contributed to Carroll County IAGenWeb many years ago. It was recently discovered there and since Prairie Hall School was located in Audubon County, not Carroll County, the photo has been moved to Audubon IAGenWeb. August 2015 August 28, 2015: Added transcriptions of 2 additional pages from the 1930 Federal Census for Audubon County, Oakfield Township - 1A and 1B. August 31, 2015: Reformatted 1860 Census Record pages and added a new main Census Record page with links for Archive.org downloads of Federal Census Records for Audubon County. A few years ago Allen County Public Library microfilms of all original Federal Census records for Audubon County were digitized and uploaded to Archive.org, a non-profit internet library. Census records are not indexed, transcribed, or searchable at Archive.org, BUT anyone can freely download complete census records for Audubon County and scroll through the original images on their own computer. Please note the file sizes when choosing a format to download. PDF file format is popular and widely used, but it does require significantly more hard drive space than some other options and consequently the download will take longer. Index contributed by the State Historical Society of Iowa. The index previously covered 1928-1933. It now also includes July 1921-June 1922. Many thanks to the State Historical Society! April 2015 April 15, 2015: Added transcription and images of several interesting letters from 1913. The letters document Lafe Simpson's efforts to upgrade/replace the Electric Plant in Audubon. The photos are of 3 men who served with Connrardy in 16th Regiment US Infantry (Illinois). January 2015 January 30, 2015: Added 3 vintage class photos and a transcription and 1907 photo of the Connrardy Dressmaking School, Exira, Iowa. January 18, 2015: Added transcription and images of J. B. Connrardy's 1871 appointment papers as Audubon Co. Sheriff. January 15, 2015: Added Civil War Letter written by Johnann Connrardig (John Connrardy) about his experiences during the Civil War for the Illinois troops. Johann later moved to Audubon county and was appointed Sheriff in 1870. Added image and transcription of J. B. Connrardy & Sarah Alice Poage 1874 Marriage Certificate to the Documents Board.
