June 2010 Several volunteers from Madison County have completed taking photos of Roberts Cemetery. (Roberts is located near Madison and many ancestors of that county are buried in Roberts.)

May, 2009 Our volunteer, Cindy, has finished the Fontanelle Cemetery. It contains 2,951 gravestones. What a job! Thank you Cindy!
April, 2009 We have added over 2200 gravestone photos in the last 6 months. There are 4 completed cemeteries and several more being worked on. I continue to answer questions, update the surnames as they come in, add photographs and various other jobs as they come to my attention. I will be traveling to Iowa in May. If there are any questions I can help with while I am there, please contact me.

October, 2008 Cindy has photographed Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Garner Cemetery and Old Union Cemetery. Follow the links to see the photos of the stones in these cemeteries. There are almost 1000 stones in these three cemeteries! What a job! Thanks to Cindy!
September, 2008 The site has a new volunteer! Her name is Cindy and she lives in Adair County. She is enthusiastic and does wonderful work!
June, 2008 I have arrived back home. The weather in Iowa was not pleasant but I was able to transcribe 3 cemeteries and take photos of each stone.
April, 2008 I have bought my plane ticket to Iowa and am preparing to spend 2 weeks in Adair County in May. If there is anything you would like me to look up while I am there, please email me.

January 15, 2007 Today I continued to work on the Education, History and Cemetery pages. I concentrated on Euerka Township.
January 14, 2007 I have been a little lax in updating this "What's New" page. So here goes. I will list everything new since the last entry in September. New 1976 Orient Township map uploaded. September 13, 2006 I have uploaded the transcriptions of the Louck's Grove cemetery. One is in alphabetical order and the other is listed by plots.
September 8, 2006 I posted two photos of young Adair men from the late 1880's. Check them out here.
July 17, 2006 I have returned from a trip to Adair County and am starting to post gravestones photos taken on my trip. I have uploaded Old Union and Pleasant Grove photos. Please take a look.
March 30, 2006 I have completed a transcription of the Penn Ave. Cemetery.
March 26, 2006 I have added a new section to the photo page. It contains mystery photos that you would like to have identified or would like to give to the proper families.
March 11, 2006 I am continuing to add surnames to the list. If you haven't sent yours, consider doing it now.
February 14, 2006 I have added more information concerning the townships. This was in response to a visitor's request.
January 29, 2006 Good News! Our volunteers (all listed on the WPA web site) have now completed the full transcription for the Adair County WPA Project. There are now 7,467 records for Adair county online in the state-wide database.

One of the great things about this site is that a visitor can search one county at a time or they can plug in a surname and search the entire state database at once, over 1/2 million names presently. It also has soundex search ability and a very popular "Post-em Note" feature which allows visitors to add to or correct the existing data and also to make themselves known to "yet to be discovered" cousins.

December 30, 2005 A new section called Biographies is now on the website. I am indexing biographies with photos and without photos. I invite you to contribute your bios and include photos if you have them.

September 8, 2005 I have finished the transcription for Prussia Center Cemetery.
August 10, 2005 I have completed the gravestone photos for Prussia Center Cemetery. There are 112. The transcription is also complete and being proof read.

I have added a military page. I am continuing to work on the Prussia Center Cemetery transcription. I also have more gravestone photos ready for viewing.
July 14, 2005 I have added Township names to the cemetery index.
June 23, 2005 I added some patriotic photos and post cards to the slide show on the home page. I thought they were appropriate for honoring Fourth of July. Click on the refresh button on your browser to cycle through the photos.

June 16, 2005 I now have photos of seven cemeteries on the web. Please visit this link to find the cemetery index.
May, 2005 My daughter and I visited Adair County. We drove to the cemeteries and photographed the entrances and a representative photo or two of the cemetery. I will be putting these on the website soon.

February 12, 2005 In honor of Presidents Day, I added a page called Patriotism. It has photos that show how Adair county folks honored our country years ago.
