Marvin and Janet were married in Stuart and with the exception of two years in Fontanelle and two years in the Army, have lived in the Stuart area. John Beattie, son of Charles F. This is a Century Farm, being in the Stuart and Beattie name 107 years. Milton and Mary Mills got part of this from the United States Government. Parts of this land were sold several times and came back several times. Captain Charles Stuart bought it Sept. 2, 1968. It was originally 214 acres. Raymond Boyle, son of Cord and Cora Emboden Boyle (from Ohio, settled Madison County, 3 miles south of Penn Center; married 1899), lives on the NW ¼ (E ½) of Sec. 20. Wife: Esther Mae, daughter of Jacob Jr., and Mary Schmidt Fink (Jacob and Mary married December 24, 1895, Mt. Vernon church). Child: Claude Raymond married Mary Jane Horka; he attended Simpson College and is a medical technician at Iowa Methodist Hospital. He: church board trustee, Lincoln Twp. Trustee, Conservation Club trustee since it started, owns farm call “Good Land Farm,” director of Prairie Queen School, worked for $35.00 a month when first married. Fink and Daisy Fink were the children of Jacob and Mary Schmidt Fink. Eldon S. Fink lives on the N ½ NW ¼ of Sec. 21. Religion: Christian, member of Penn Center church. Eldon Fink served in WWII went to service Feb. 9, 1942. In South Pacific 3 years and was in all those islands and came home Aug. 29, 1946. Eldon trained at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and Chanute Field, Ill. and in Washington State before going overseas. Has lots of souvenirs of the war. Jack Bruce Fredrickson and Earl Dean Fredrickson are sons of Richard C. and Kathleen Fredrickson. The boys are helping their uncle and aunt (Emil and Alma Fillman) with the farming. Bernard Gittins, son of Harold and Marcella Bates Gittins, married Martha, daughter of Elmer and Clarene Marean. They built the Stuart Horse & Sale Barn and have been in the horse sale and buying business 25 years. Earl Gray, son of Roy C. and Mae Eda Foley Gray, lives on the NE ¼ of Sec. 27.
